Morning Comes is a song that had to go through some transformation before it could reach out to the world, reworked and refined through live performances. Like their latest single, Nice And Easy, this song is also mixed by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, The Black Angels, Kurt Vile) and mastered by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone at Sterling Sound (Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, John Lennon, Talking Heads). It started out sounding different than the final product.

The song shows the band’s progress throughout the years and confidence to experiment and make a song with an odd mix of clashing styles. Mary Veil’s musical DNA is one rooted deeply in the intersection between the contrasting guitar riffs and melodies, it is present in Morning Comes. The song is heavy with its proud, anthem-like guitar riffs yet light with its playful melody. It opens up for interpretation. “It doesn't matter. We're more interested in what the listener thinks it's about. We're sure they could come up with some pretty interesting interpretations. We don't want to get in the way of that”, they explain.
